From the viewpoint of administrative procedures, the purpose of handling GMOs or their use is of the utmost importance. GMOs can be used for very different purposes, for example, in laboratory research, in production of medicinal products, where they are not in contact with the environment, or as produce of the field, where their contact with the environment is unlimited. In administrative procedures, GMOs, which could have a harmful effect on the environment and people?s health, as well as GMOs, for which it is not likely that they will have a harmful influence on the environment and people?s health, are dealt with.
